It's a great deal of brash fun, and it should satisfy all those basic Trekkie cravings.. Jolie's commitment to the part is admirable: She gives this Maleficent a real emotional urgency. But the rest of the movie lets her down.. The result is a wild piece of entertainment that manages to be about something. Beam yourself up for this one..
